Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday: it's the chance to gather with the people you love and pause to reflect on how much they mean to you. After the intense year and a half we've all had, this ritual means more than ever.

But people often forget a crucial part: a gift for the host! Coordinating and cooking for a group of people is no easy feat, and we all want to thank them for their effort. We've made that really easy, with the Women in Food Box. Read on for our top tips for giving the best host gift.

1. Send it before Thanksgiving, if you can! Everyone gets rushed as the holiday gets closer, so it's extra special if they receive a "Thank You" before you even arrive, when they have a chance to appreciate it fully.

2. Send something you know they'll love. Not everyone drinks alcohol, so sending wine or champagne can be tricky. That's why we created the Women in Food box: every item included is a mouth-watering treat that comes from a women-owned small business. While you're making your host feel celebrated, you'll also be supporting 9 small businesses.

3. Send something that makes their life easier. This might be a candle you know they love, or a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. We chose to go with food, so they have ready-to-go snacks on hand while planning and creating the Thanksgiving meal.

The Women in Food box is an entire "dinner party in a box," from savory appetizers, to a home-made pasta entree, to a sweet dessert. We made sure your host feels super appreciated when they open the box and realize you thought of everything.

4. Don't be afraid to send love to gatherings you can't join! Whether you're splitting holidays with a partner, can't make it home this year, or just can't be in two places at once, don't underestimate the power of saying hi from afar. A physical package on the doorstep can mean so much to folks who have been missing you for a long time.

Of course, what you send matters far less than just making the effort to send a little something to show you care. We're wishing you and your loved ones a happy holiday season!!
